Advanced Practice Aesthetics Explains: Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women and Men

At Advanced Practice Aesthetics, we provide BHRT services to women and men looking to improve symptoms of hormone imbalance. Bioidentical Hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) has been around for decades, though public opinion about it has not always been positive.

Research about hormone therapy for women has been conducted throughout those decades while scientists tried to find the right combination that would benefit women instead of harming them. However, there is evidence that shows HRT can benefit women when administered properly.

Sometimes, our bodies stop producing the right amount of certain hormones, such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. HRT can help replenish your hormones and maintain natural production levels. So, if it feels like you’ve tried everything to improve your health and nothing seems to work, then HRT might be right for you.

Let’s dive into more information about HRT and the symptoms of female and male hormone imbalance.

What Is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone replacement therapy is a way to address the root cause of several different symptoms related to aging and stress. With guidance from a qualified provider, women can benefit from added hormones to keep their levels balanced.

Advanced Practice Aesthetics uses bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for our clients, with hormone pellet therapy as the delivery method.

Let’s look at what BHRT is all about.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy uses bioidentical hormones derived from natural sources, which are an exact structural match to your own hormones.

This is different from some HRT that uses synthetic hormones.

With hormone pellet therapy, pellets are implanted in an area on the hip or buttock. The area is cleaned, and a small amount of local anesthesia is administered.

The provider will make a small incision and insert the appropriate amount of pellets into the fatty tissue just beneath the skin. After insertion, the area is cleaned, and a dressing is applied.

The area may be sore, so patients are advised to ice the area and keep it dry for several days. Overall, the process is straightforward, with minimal to no discomfort.

Male Hormone Imbalance Symptoms

Male hormone imbalance, often due to low testosterone, can cause a variety of symptoms that affect both physical and mental well-being. Common symptoms include:

  • Fatigue & Low Energy – Persistent tiredness, even after adequate rest.

  • Decreased Muscle Mass & Strength – Difficulty building or maintaining muscle.

  • Weight Gain & Increased Body Fat – Especially around the midsection.

Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women and Men

BHRT is an easy process, which makes it convenient.

Hormone pellet therapy allows for a natural release of hormones as they dissolve slowly in your body. This way, you receive steady, consistent dosing.

The pellets also help reduce side effects and allow your body to naturally adapt to the supplement, increase the speed and effectiveness of the treatment, and reduce the side effects sometimes associated with BHRT.
